Amazing Grace Day Camp
Amazing Grace Day Camp is a partner ministry sponsored by the Southern Ohio Synod of the ELCA and Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio. Taking place each year in Mid-July, counselors from Lutheran Memorial Camp come to First English to lead camp activities right here in the church. Activities include bible study, arts & crafts, song time, outdoor games, and worship. The energetic and enthusiastic counselors share their faith with the kids, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Central Community House Reading Initiative
This is a 9 week long summer program for kids from Kindergarten to 5th grade to improve reading proficiency. Please read our quarterly newsletter for more details on this program and how you can help.
Students are welcome to come to the church on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 P.M. - 5:30 P.M. to receive help with homework. We provide a quiet place for studying with volunteer tutors available to help.
Every Saturday from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. children from the neighborhood join us for games, arts & crafts, bible stories, field trips, and more. Breakfast and Lunch are served as part of Kid's Camp. Students from Capital University join our neighborhood volunteers to provide supervision and mentoring.
Every Sunday morning children are invited to Children's Church from 9:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. Bible study and other fun activities take place downstairs in the children's area. Breakfast is served at Children's Church.
Young Men's Dinner & Discussion
Every Thursday evening young men are invited to come take part in dinner and discussion at the church. The discussion changes every week, but focuses on the struggles of being a teenager in today's world. Adult male role models are needed and always welcome.
